It Take a Community to Build a Community Center

With your support the Rotterdam Community Center has experienced an amazing first year as a nonprofit organization dedicated to nourishing our neighborhood in body, mind and soul! Together, we welcomed over 14,000 guests and served over 52,000 meals worth of groceries to our neighbors in need, all powered by over 4,100 hours of volunteer service! We launched an additional session of the Bread of Life Food Pantry, welcomed guests for new life skills groups like Nutrition Classes with Cornell Cooperative Extension and Identity Theft Prevention Classes with Bank of America. We partnered with the Schenectady County Historical Society to help our neighbors learn about their roots through monthly History Nights. Our Community Advocates, food pantry guests trained in public
speaking and leadership skills, galvanized Schenectady County to respond to the SNAP funding crisis this fall!

We also have much to be excited about in the year ahead! This January alone, we will welcome Living Resources for a new day habilitation program two afternoons a week for adults with intellectual disabilities. New Choices Recovery Center and Ellis Hospital will begin surveying guests to identify other life skills groups that are needed in our community.

Join our End of the Year Campaign to reach $20,000 in gifts to our Annual Fund by December 31st, 2025 as we complete our spinoff process by the end of this year!

It takes a community to build a community center, and thank you, as always, for your generous support!

In hope,

Rev. Dustin Longmire
Interim Board Chair, Rotterdam Community Center
